All of the directors and officers of GAN serve on a volunteer basis.
Bonnie Gillman
Bonnie Gillman, President, is a non-profit consultant who specializes in resource development for charities. She has 50 years of professional and volunteer experience with a myriad of organizations. As the grandparent of a child with autism, she founded the Grandparent Autism Network to address the unmet needs of grandparents in the Orange County, CA community where she has resided since 1972.
Olivia A. Johnson
Olivia A. Johnson, Secretary, is a prominent philanthropist in Orange County, CA. Ms. Johnson has served as a founder and board of director for many well respected non-profit organizations and has experience in every facet of non-profit organizational operations. A resident in the community over 30 years, she brings outstanding skills to GAN.
George L. Butler
George L. Butler, Treasurer, is a retired Air Force four-star general who in his last active duty assignment was commander of the United States strategic nuclear forces. After retirement he entered the business world as President of Kiewit Energy. He brings global expertise and grandparent commitment to our cause.
Dorene N. Butler
Dorene N. Butler has served on numerous boards and committees at the local and national level. She has built two small businesses and has excellent abilities to plan and execute events for organizations. Ms. Butler has special skills for friend raising and fund raising.
Judy Berkowitz
Judy Berkowitz has business expertise and currently owns and operates her own company. Ms. Berkowitz has volunteer experience with other non-profit organizations. Her excellent organizational skills have been instrumental in the development of GAN programs and activities.
Hedy S. Hansen
Hedy S. Hansen is the Parent Support and Education Program Manager at FOR OC Kids, a University of California, Irvine and Childrens Hospital of Orange Countys Neurodevelopmental Center for children with autism. The parent of a child with autism, Ms. Hansen brings both her personal and professional perspective to GAN programs. She will serve as the liaison to the network of professional resources.
Nancy D. McGovern
Nancy D. McGovern is a Clinical Psychologist affiliated with the County of Orange Health Care Agency and a Parent Support Consultant to Regional Center of Orange County. She provides support and courses for parents of children with autism throughout Orange County. Dr. McGovern will serve in developing program topics and identifying qualified speakers.
